I really wanted to like these but I found them to be a tad heavier than I like and a little too much sole. They are comfortable but I couldn’t get past the fullness. I can’t quite put my finger on it. When I compare Brooks shoes, I compare them to my favorite, the Glycerin 20. Best shoe, best, perfect comfort for running/walking, perfect toe box width, breathable fabric etc. I think this will be a good shoe for a lot of people but just not for me. Nice soft upper. Midsole is soft, not plush, just the right amount of cushioning. Outsole has good grip. The one negative is the tongue moves too much. For a shoe at a premium price it should be gusseted. Brooks, step up and fox this. The 8mm drop is definitely better. (Review originally posted on Brooks Running US website)

The cushioning is wonderful for my everyday and long runs. The fit is good, does not create any hot spots. It’s not as fast as the Glycerin 22’s, so I still wear the 22’s for race day. The only thing I miss with the 23’s is the elastic band on the tongue. I like to loop my laces through it so they don’t come undone. Over all it’s another great shoe from Brooks. Great fit and support.Brook’s addressed fit issues had with glycerin 22 went through serveral returns with 2E and 4 E . Atlast found Glycerin 23 is a great product for people with foot issues.best product since glycerin 20.Quality of sole and other materials went up compared to other brands. I love this shoe. It feels premium to wear. It’s soft underneath, yet firm enough to grip the ground. I have high arches, am an avid walker, and have had chronic achilles tendinopathy and anterior ankle impingement issues for the past year and these shoes provide some inherent relief and help alleviate my symptoms. This was my first experience with a shoe this soft it has been working great for me on not only my shorter runs but my long ones too. Very comfortable and easy on my feet. I have higher arches and these don’t seem to lack support, at least for me. I plan on hopefully getting another pair for a half marathon later in the year if these wear out before then.
